Tom EhlersPresident and Founder
Tom graduated from Princeton University and completed Princeton’s Teacher Preparation Program. Early on, he developed a passion for learning which led to the inception of Method Test Prep. Running this small business allowed Tom to really focus on each student’s needs and spend countless hours tutoring with the belief that all students have the ability to succeed. In addition, he has worked as an educational consultant with school districts across the country and advises them on ways to improve the districts’ college admission test scores.
Tom is a father to twins Jonathan and Julia and enjoys traveling with his children and wife, Ally. In his down time, he reads, watches sports, and stays active. His motto in life, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadows.”
Frank McWilliamsSenior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Since joining Method Test Prep in 2005, Frank has helped hundreds of schools raise their students’ ACT and SAT scores. He has worked with private, public, charter, international, and online schools to provide affordable, high quality, and easy to use ACT and SAT prep. Frank understands the challenges that educators face, from time constraints to budget concerns, and works diligently to meet their needs. When not helping schools with test prep, Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, boating, and fishing. In 1998 Frank graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Bryan ZieglerSenior Vice President of Operations
Bryan is the product manager and SVP of operations at Method Test Prep. He plays a major role at Method by overseeing all support as well as designing and developing Method’s online platform. Bryan graduated with a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, Bryan moved to Colorado after college to enjoy the mountains and has settled in the Denver area with his wife Clay and dog Woody. Bryan enjoys skiing, watching college football, and CrossFit. Above all else, Bryan believes in following his dreams and enjoying the ride.
Evan WesslerVice President of Education
Evan graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bucknell University with a degree in Biology in 2009. After starting a biomedical sciences PhD program at Harvard University, he decided instead to pursue tutoring and leadership opportunities with Method Test Prep. Evan’s experience has given him the ability to excel as a top educator at Method Test Prep, and has helped develop his current responsibilities, which include teaching, managing Method Test Prep’s team of tutors, developing educational content, and expanding the reach of Method Test Prep’s private tutoring services.
In his early days, prior to developing a passion for education, Evan aspired to be an astronomer. One of his life goals is to travel the world in hopes of finding inspiration to write a work of fiction. Currently, Evan’s pastimes include listening to and playing music, running, writing, and engaging in political and policy-oriented discussions. A natural planner, Evan lives by the quote, “Previous planning prevents poor performance.”
Kyle HenriksenDirector of Business Development
Kyle graduated from Pace University in 2011 with a Bachelors in English and minor in applied psychology. He then continued on to receive his MSed in Secondary Education from Hofstra University. Kyle began tutoring students for the SAT and ACT in 2011 and joined Method Test Prep in 2013 where he serves as a private tutor and classroom instructor at local high schools. In his time spent as a high school and youth baseball coach, Kyle has developed a comprehensive understanding of the demands placed on today’s students and seeks to help them find a way to balance their passions and their education through his work as a tutor. His warm, caring approach has earned him a fantastic reputation among students and parents alike. After hours, you’ll find Kyle reading and enjoying time with his wife and newborn son.
Kevin DennisDirector of School Classes
Kevin graduated from SUNY Albany with a BA in History and minor in political science. After receiving his MA in Teaching in 2006, he taught English in Taiwan and then worked in a number of capacities in several Long Island schools. Since joining MTP in 2011, Kevin has tutored and taught classes for both the SAT and ACT. His energy, humor, and penchant for pop-cultural references make his tutoring engaging and as exciting as the SAT and ACT could possibly be. When he’s not tutoring, Kevin might be found enjoying the water on the south shore or playing with his dog, Duzi.
Elliot BockDirector of Online Classes
Elliot graduated from Brown University with a degree in Mathematical Economics. This means he has forgotten more about math than most will ever know. After a brief stint as an insurance analyst, he joined Method Test Prep, where his confident and patient educational style would shine.
As Method Test Prep’s Director of Online Learning, Elliot has helped thousands of students from around the world conquer the SAT and ACT. His desire to improve and innovate has driven the growth of Method Test Prep’s online learning division, which provides students access to the best instructors regardless of location.
When Elliot isn’t hard at work, you’ll probably find him cycling, playing ultimate frisbee, or mastering a new foreign language. He has big plans to travel the world with his wife, Gen, and immerse himself in other cultures.
When Elliot was ten years old, he wanted to be: a doctor.
Andrew PetersonDirector of Education
The 10-year-old Andrew Peterson envisioned himself as a psychiatrist; however, as he grew to adulthood, he needed more of a challenge and decided to take on high school education instead. Andrew has drawn on his strong intellect and enduring patience to develop into one of Method Test Prep’s most highly regarded tutors. He is responsible for developing new material as well as training and leading our tutoring corps. Andrew enjoys astronomy, swimming, scuba diving, and music, but not all at the same time. When he needs to summon that last bit of inner strength or inspiration to help a student, he recalls the quote, “Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.”
Ethan LewisDirector of Customer Satisfaction
Ethan joined Method Test Prep in the summer of 2015 after 19 years working at independent boarding schools in New England and Pennsylvania. Ethan has done a little of everything in his career, having been an administrator, a history teacher, an advisor, a varsity coach, and a dormitory parent. Most significantly, Ethan spent 10 years as an academic technology guru and 8 years as a college counselor. Ethan was responsible for his school’s partnership with Method Test Prep and he has been a supporter of the company’s product and services for years. He is excited about sharing his enthusiasm for Method Test Prep with colleagues at other schools.
Ethan grew up near Philadelphia, and attended Hampshire College (where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Theory) and Purdue University (where he earned a Master’s degree in American Studies). He now resides in Richmond, Virginia. Ethan writes for multiple blogs, and his writing about the college admissions process has been well-received by professionals all over the globe.
Ethan spends his spare time reading and writing, listening to music, and playing blues guitar. He especially enjoys relaxing with his wife (a school librarian) and their pets.
Oliver LuisiDirector of Tutoring
Oliver graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before heading out to California where he co-founded an education company called the School of Imagination. After returning to New York, he taught English at Chaminade High School and helped found a social enterprise non-profit in Syracuse. Prior to joining Method Test Prep, Oliver worked in development at New York University and as the executive director of a yoga institute.
A lifelong student with a passion for expanding his horizons, Oliver has studied, taught and traveled in over 25 countries around the globe. In his spare time you’ll usually find him playing music, hiking, sailing and laughing as much as possible with his wife Beth and his children Cecelia and Julian. One of his favorite quotes is from Sir Edmund Hillary: “It is not the mountain that we conquer, but ourselves.”
Ashley GenovaOffice Manager
Ashley joined the Method Test Prep team in 2016. A born and raised Long Islander, Ashley has lived on the Island all her life. Although Ashley is a graduate of the Art Institute Culinary Program, she’s worked as an Office Manager for over 12 years. Ashley prides herself in her ability to help guide the many parents and students that call with questions on how best to prepare for the ACT and SAT exams. In her spare time, Ashley loves to cook, make her own gourmet marshmallows, and spend time with her son and boyfriend.
Christina graduated from Towson University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics. Christina is currently furthering her education to become a radiology technologist. A quote she believes in is “Follow your dreams, they know the way”. In her spare time, Christina enjoys going to the beach, hiking, and listening to music.
Andre ThompsonSatisfaction Specialist
Andre joined Method Test Prep in February 2020 and brings extensive experience in the realm of customer support, working for both large, multinational corporations and small nonprofit organizations. Most recently Andre has worked as a technical support advisor for Apple, Inc. and as an editorial assistant for the Journal of American History, where he also served as podcast producer. He is very interested in the intersection of technology and education.
Andre grew up near Charlotte, North Carolina, and attended Winthrop University, where he earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in History. He is currently a Doctoral student in History at Indiana University Bloomington and resides in the Charlottesville, Virginia area.
Andre spends his spare time reading, writing, and doing historical research, as well as spending time with his wife and two children.
