Oliver graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before heading out to California where he co-founded an education company called the School of Imagination. After returning to New York, he taught English at Chaminade High School and helped found a social enterprise non-profit in Syracuse. Prior to joining Method Test Prep, Oliver worked in development at New York University and as the executive director of a yoga institute.
A lifelong student with a passion for expanding his horizons, Oliver has studied, taught and traveled in over 20 countries around the globe. In his spare time you’ll usually find him playing music, hiking, sailing and laughing as much as possible with his wife Beth and his children Cecelia and Julian. One of his favorite quotes is from Sir Edmund Hillary: “It is not the mountain that we conquer, but ourselves.”
Evan graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bucknell University with a degree in Biology in 2009. After starting a biomedical sciences PhD program at Harvard University, he decided instead to pursue tutoring and leadership opportunities with Method Test Prep. Evan’s experience has given him the ability to excel as a top educator at Method Test Prep, and has helped develop his current responsibilities, which include teaching, managing Method Test Prep’s team of tutors, developing educational content, and expanding the reach of Method Test Prep’s private tutoring services.
In his early days, prior to developing a passion for education, Evan aspired to be an astronomer. One of his life goals is to travel the world in hopes of finding inspiration to write a work of fiction. Currently, Evan’s pastimes include listening to and playing music, running, writing, and engaging in political and policy-oriented discussions. A natural planner, Evan lives by the quote, “Previous planning prevents poor performance.”
Tom graduated from Princeton University and completed Princeton’s Teacher Preparation Program. Early on, he developed a passion for learning which led to the inception of Method Test Prep. Running this small business allowed Tom to really focus on each student’s needs and spend countless hours tutoring with the belief that all students have the ability to succeed. In addition, he has worked as an educational consultant with school districts across the country and advises them on ways to improve the districts’ college admission test scores.
Tom is a father to twins Jonathan and Julia and enjoys traveling with his children and wife, Ally. In his down time, he reads, watches sports, and stays active. When he retires, Tom hopes to return to the classroom to continue his love of teaching. His motto in life, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadows.”
